After receiving a BA in English Literature fromSan Diego State University,CAin 1968, Elaine  joined the business world where her business and accounting experience covers a wide range in private industry including educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, financial investment management, Controller and Executive Committee member of a manufacturing firm, accountant for a law firm, and property management.  In addition, she conducted her own bookkeeping and consulting business.

After completing post-baccalaureate work in accounting at Southern Oregon State College,Ashland,ORin 1992, Elaine joined Puttman and Company, CPA’s was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant by the State ofOregonin June 1995 and became a partner withJohn Puttmanin 1997.  Her public accounting experience includes extensive auditing, financial and consulting services work with nonprofit organizations; board training on governance policies, and fiduciary responsibilities, internal controls and audit readiness assessment; tax consulting and outside controller services to small business clients; and tax and planning for individuals.  She also provides technical review services for the firm as well as other firms in our joint office share arrangement.  Elaine is currently the Treasurer and on the board of Girl Scouts of Oregon andSouthwest Washington.  She is a member of OSCPA Not-for-Profit (NFP) Strategic Plan Team and chair of the NFP Conference May, 2012.
